Department for Promoting Cultural and Creative Industries

1. The Department for Promoting Cultural and Creative Industries is responsible for:

1) Collaborating in the process of developing a policy and strategies for the development of the cultural and creative industries;

2) Proposing measures to support the development of these industries, submitting the latter for approval and monitoring their implementation;

3) Planning the management and reuse of cultural resources pertaining to the Cultural Affairs Bureau, in order to promote the development of these industries;

4) Coordinating any public services involved in the promotion and implementation of projects related to these industries;

5) Promoting the positive results of the cultural and creative industries of the MSAR;

6) Express opinions on the applications for filming permits and supervise the relevant activities.

2. The Department for Promoting Cultural and Creative Industries comprises the Division for Planning and Developing Cultural and Creative Industries.

Division for Planning and Developing Cultural and Creative Industries

The Division for Planning and Developing Cultural and Creative Industries is responsible for:

1) Establishing and implementing measures in accordance with the policies and strategies for the development of cultural and creative industries;

2) Promoting the incubation of cultural and creative industries;

3) Follow up the management and reuse of venues and spaces under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau;

4) Organising and monitoring specialized research projects related to these industries;

5) Carry out and follow up regional and international cooperation projects of the cultural and creative industries;

6) Compile dossiers on the applications for filming permits and create dossiers on the relevant illegal acts, and suggest corresponding measures to be taken.
