In solemn remembrance of the centennial anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution, also known as the 1911 Revolution, the Macao Chinese Orchestra has specially commissioned new music from each of four distinguished Chinese composers of contemporary folk music, who will present the world premieres of their works in Macao.

The renowned and extraordinarily talented erhu player Song Fei will perform as soloist in Kuan Nai Chung’s symphonic suite Centenary Ceremony of Xinhai. The magnificence of the Xinhai Revolution, recreated amidst the splendid scenery of today’s China, beautifully illustrates the great transformation of the past century. This is surely one of the highlights of this year’s International Music Festival – not to be missed!
