The An Zhishun Percussion Troupe was founded by An Zhishun, China’s famous percussion master widely known as the ‘Drum King’, and by dancer Shizuko Miya. The first private professional percussion performance group in China, the Troupe was the sole professional troupe from Mainland China to perform in the Hong Kong handover celebrations in 1997. The troupe is a pioneer in the integration of Eastern and Western percussion art. Founded in March 1987, the Inner Mongolia Youth Glee Club is well-known both at home and abroad for its a cappella performances in Mongolian style. The glee club has performed in the Sydney Opera House, the Vienna Concert Hall, the Shanghai Opera House, the Beijing Concert Hall and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, amongst other international venues, to high acclaim.
