Chinese farce, is a popular form of entertainment in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. It is based on a kind of comic monologue that became popular in the 1920s and 30s. It has a convoluted plot and highly exaggerated movements, with actors using various dialects, popular songs and arias from traditional Chinese operas.
