The Nanjing-born Ding Sisters get together to perform a selection of their two most recent CD releases, as well as earlier songs that made them famous. The first is Ding Fei Fei’s 2003 CD Origin produced by Ding Fei Fei and Ding Wei including not only the artist as a singer but also as erhu player. The second CD is Ding Wei’s 2004 Dear Ding Wei which incorporates world music and bossa nova, with electronic and acoustic instruments. Both sisters have been learning different music traditions, giving them a perspective on the convergence and contrast between East and West, patent in their music.
