Originating in the state of Kerala, at the southwest tip of the Indian subcontinent, Mohiniyattam, literally the dance of Mohini the enchantress, is one of the most lyrical classical dance styles of India. Its movements are soft and graceful and imbued with feminine grace. They have been likened to the sway of palm leaves in the gentle breeze.

Pallavi Krishnan, one of the very few exponentss of Mohiniyattam and a trend-setter for many young dancers the world over, has developed a performing style marked by creativity. She is known for her tremendous efforts to promote and preserve this style of dance as a living tradition.
