Following the Macao Horizons I – Contemporary Art Exhibition held in 2006, the Cultural Affairs Bureau is organizing the Macao Horizons II – Contemporary Art Exhibition, to be held from January 22 to March 10, 2008. The exhibition has attracted numerous submissions of artworks from local artists and has successfully brought more excellent local creations to the fore, leading to more contemplations and explorations in expanding the boundaries of local art.

The Macao Horizons I – Contemporary Art Exhibition was held in 2006 on an experimental basis but nonetheless aroused keen interest and enthusiastic participation by local artists, which resulted in an excellent outcome. Macao Horizons II – Contemporary Art Exhibition will be held this year with a view to building on the success of its predecessor, bringing more art talent to the fore and enhancing the quality of local artworks. The organizer invited local professional artists to form the selection panel. Twelve plans were selected to be displayed from January 22 to March 10 at Tap Seac Gallery.

The twelve plans selected include José Manuel T. Simões Morais’s SUMA, Chiang Chin Pang’s Time, Wu Lu Sheng’s Freedom – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Kuan Keng Leong’s Drum, Chan Chi Vai, Chan San Long and Chan Tai Long’s Ancient Thinking, Juliana Silvestre Wong’s Wel’Come to my Place, Wong Hon Wai’s The Lost City, Cheong Kuok Wai’s Seven Sentiments, Tam Chek Wun and Fong Chi Kong’s Peaceful Coexistence, Ieong Kun Ieng’s Absent, Lam Chi Kan and Lam Chi Hang’s Behind Prosperity, and Wong Pan’s T.H.M.
