Chan Kai Chon appointed as Vice President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau

According to the dispatch by the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Alexis Tam Chon Weng, the current Director of the Macao Museum of Art under the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Chan Kai Chon, will replace Ieong Chi Kin as Vice President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau from 12 January. Chan Kai Chon will have the task of supervising the works in the areas of exhibitions and museums, cultural and creative industries and arts education.

Chan Kai Chon served as Director of the Macao Museum of Art since 2017. He obtained a Bachelor degree in Economics at Jinan University, a Master degree in Fine Arts at the Nanjing Normal University and a PhD at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 1992, he worked in the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and served as the Head of the Division of Continuing Education of this Bureau from 1994 to 2003. As per his request, Ieong Chi Kin ceased to serve as Vice President from 1 January 2019.
