Co-organized by the Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of Guangdong Province and the Create Hong Kong, the “2017 Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Film Production Investment and Trade Fair” (hereinafter referred to as “the Investment Fair”) has been concluded successfully. This edition of the Investment Fair counted with the participation of producers of 26 film projects and 70 investors. The Investment Fair provides a platform for exchange and cooperation for film producers and investors from the three regions, facilitating pairing services, investment, shooting and development opportunities of the small and medium-sized film projects.
The “Investment Fair” was held on 25 and 26 July at the Regency Art Hotel Macau, exclusively for industry members. Producers of 26 film projects from the three regions introduced the concepts of their projects and met the investors, so as to explore pairing services, investment and development opportunities for the film projects.
In addition, in order to recognize projects with potential, three awards have been specially designed for the occasion, namely the “Film Project—Grand Award”, the “Film Project—Award of Excellence” and the “Film Project—Award of Merit”, which were voted by investors after the interview. Finally, the film My Dreamer Daddy from Macao obtained the most votes and received the “Film Project—Grand Award” from the President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. Government, Leung Hio Ming; the film Just Run! from Hong Kong received the “Film Project—Award of Excellence” from the Assistant Head of the Create Hong Kong, Wellington Fung; and the film Coarse Tea, Plain Rice from Hong Kong received the “Film Project—Award of Merit” from the Secretary-General of the Guangdong Motion Picture Industry Association, Zheng Dawei.
The “Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Film Production Investment and Trade Fair” has been held since 2014 in Macao, aimed at offering a quality platform for convenient exchange and pairing services between film producers and investors from the three regions, creating a film investment and cooperation channel among the regions, focusing on supporting small and medium budget film production and on training professionals, as well as promoting the development of the film industry in the three regions.
