Ticket purchasing for the 26th Macao Arts Festival available from Sunday

The 26th Macao Arts Festival (MAF), organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will be held from 1 to 31 May. The theme of the 26th edition of the festival is “Encounter”, which seeks to transcend the boundaries of art and allow different mediums of the arts to converse, thus demonstrating the diversification of art. Tickets will be available through Macau Ticketing Network from 10am on 22 March (Sunday). The queuing vouchers will be distributed from 9am on the same day. Telephone and online bookings are available from 12pm on 22 March.

The 26th MAF includes a variety of excellent shows. The Asian premiere of Lied Ballet heralds the curtain-up of the MAF; Trust, also an Asian premiere, will be the closing show; The Suit showcases the master’s extraordinary denotation of theatrical space; 1699 The Peach Blossom Fan perfectly demonstrates the inheritance of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Local plays promise to be equally fascinating: The MAF commissioned performance, Fateful Decision, provides a platform for the use and practice of original script on stage.This edition of the MAF has also commissioned WCdance from Taiwan with the piece Aerodynamics, whichencourages the exchange and cooperation of artists from Macao and Taiwan. Phaedra 2.0-Desires and Lies transcends the boundaries of language and text.  A series of exhibitions will also be launched to demonstrate the diversity of art: The MAF programme includes several family-orientated programmes; Savanna – A Possible Landscape, Transports Exceptionnels, and Dot are some of the shows which will give both adults and children the opportunity to appreciate art together.

Various discounts for ticket purchasing are offered at this edition of the MAF. Purchasers meeting one or more of the criteria below will receive a discount of 40% when buying tickets between 22 March and 29 March, or a discount of 30% when buying tickets on or after 30 March: Purchasing tickets for at least 4 different performances; purchasing 10 tickets or more for the same performance; presenting a valid Student Card (full-time students only, each student is allowed to purchase one discounted ticket for specific area per performance); presenting a Macao Senior Citizen Card or a Disability Assessment Registration Card (each card holder is allowed to purchase one discounted ticket per performance). Purchasers can get a 30% discount on tickets for Lied Ballet or Trust by presenting a BOC Multi-currency Credit Card or BOC card. A 20% discount on all tickets is also available when presenting a Teacher’s Card, BOC Multi-currency Credit Card, BOC Card, Luso International Banking Ltd., BCM, OCBC Wing Hang, Tai Fung Bank or BNU Credit Card.

ICM is committed to enhancing an inclusive society by providing the platform for the audience with visual or hearing impairment to appreciate the arts. Audio description and theatrical interpretation will be offered in The Bizarre Fairy Tales at 8pm on 24 May. 50 free tickets will be offered for those who have visual or hearing impairment. Tickets will be distributed from 28 March to 17 April at counters of Macau Ticketing Network. Interested individuals need to bring a valid Disability Assessment Registration Card. Each individual with a valid card will be entitled to two tickets. Limited offer, while stocks last.
