The “Performance to Celebrate the 69th Anniversary of the National Day of the People’s Republic of China”, jointly organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. Government and the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R., in cooperation with the Sports Bureau, specially features the spectacular acrobatic show Rainbow over the Silk Road performed by the Shaanxi Provincial Acrobatic Art Troupe Co. Ltd., allowing residents to enjoy Chinese traditional performing arts and to celebrate the National Day. The show will be held on 30 September and 1 October, at 8pm, at the Macao Forum. Tickets on sale at the Macau Ticketing Network.

The large-scale acrobatic show Rainbow over the Silk Road takes the audience on a journey through time in search of European and Asian exotic cultures. With stunning acrobatics, the show introduces the legendary story of a Chinese trade caravan who struggled to open the Silk Road in the golden era of the Tang dynasty, presenting the audience the diverse and inclusive culture of the dynasty at its prime and the Silk Road as “a road of commerce and friendship”. Unlike traditional acrobatic shows, Rainbow over the Silk Road unrolls a picturesque history through breathtaking acrobatics, music, dance, costumes and storyline in five acts entitled “Dynamic Chang’an”, “Snowfield Fantasia”, “Mesmerising Dunhuang”, “Conjugal Fate in Persia” and“Passionate Rome”. The show has been recognized with a number of major honours in the artistic spheres, from Classic Project of Shaanxi Contemporary Art, Best Performance Award in the 1st Silk Road International Art Festival and the 7th Art Festival of Shaanxi Province, to the 2015-2016 National Cultural Export major project.
