Literally jumping from the streets of London to the stage, this energetic show will not let the audience rest quietly on their seats. Inspired by Billy Wilder’s 1959 classic movie Some Like It Hot, with sprinkles of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Some Like It Hip Hop is a dance piece choreographed and directed by Kate Prince. Bringing something for everyone, the show explores the theme of gender identity, blending street dance and physical theatre into a very musical and acrobatic production.

Once upon a time in a city where books were banned and women were kept subservient to men, Jo-Jo and Kerri, are caught breaking the rules. The two leading ladies are sent away, only to return disguised as males, ready to change the world in wigs, fake moustaches and suits. Fast and furious at moments, whilst delicate and emotional at others, this breathtaking love story moves swiftly around mistaken identities before ending up in a revolution. Undoubtably, this is a beat that no urban dance lover will want to miss, to the last move!
