Macao Creative Pavilion participates in Hong Kong International Licensing Show to help Macao’s IP brands to explore opportunities for international business

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) has organised the participation of Macao’s cultural and creative entities in the Hong Kong International Licensing Show 2023 for the first time as well as the establishment of the “Macao Creative Pavilion”, with the aim of promoting Macao’s cultural and creative products and services, increasing the popularity and exploring opportunities for international business through the exhibition of various local IP brands and holding promotion session.

The Licensing Show was held from 19 to 21 April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, and more than 500 brands and licensing projects from around the world participated in the Show. IC organised the participation of 10 local cultural and creative entities with IP brands in the Show in Hong Kong and set up the “Macao Creative Pavilion”. During the event, IC held a number of IP brand promotion sessions, and paired over 130 companies for exhibitors through online and offline business negotiations, in which 46 companies had a preliminary cooperation intention.

IC encourages the professionalisation and industrialisation of Macao’s cultural and creative industries. In recent years, Macao’s IP brands have actively developed products and expanded business cooperation and sales channels, including combining IP with local cultural elements in mystery toy boxes, exhibiting and selling products in Macao’s integrated resorts and the Macau International Airport, and licensing with hotels and enterprises in Mainland China, showing the development of Macao’s IP brands are with certain potential. IC will continue to foster the cultivation of Macao’s cultural and creative industries and build up IP resources, to increase the popularity and recognition of Macao’s cultural and creative enterprises and brands.
