Cultural facilities of the Cultural Affairs Bureau post-typhoon reopening arrangements

Due to the typhoon Hato, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has carried out inspection and cleaning works of its cultural facilities including heritage sites, exhibition and performing venues, which will gradually reopen to the public from tomorrow (25 August). Some venues need further inspection and repair and will reopen as soon as the related works are completed.

Cultural facilities which will reopen to the public tomorrow include: Mandarin’s House, Lou Kau Mansion, Ruins of St. Pauls, Na Tcha Exhibition Room, General Ye Ting’s House, Treasure of Sacred Art at St. Dominic's Church, the Macao Museum of Art, Archives of Macao, the Tap Seac Gallery, the Old Court Building, the Mount Fortress Corridor, the Macao Tea Culture House, the Museum of Taipa and Coloane, the Taipa Houses - Nostalgic House and Macanese Living Museum, Macao Fashion Gallery, S1-S3, S9 and S10 at Anim’Arte NAM VAN. The Macao Conservatory and its three schools will also be back in operation. The Dom Pedro V Theatre will open partially.

The Jao Tsung-I Academy will be closed on 25 and 26 August while the Macao Handover Gifts Museum will be closed on 25 August in order to carry out cleaning works.

Cultural facilities which are more seriously affected and are eligible for reopening only after the completion of further inspection and repairs include: Guia Fortress, Guia Fortress Chapel, Guia Military Tunnels, No. 80 in Rua das Estalagens, the Patane Night Watch House, the Woodcraft Works of Master Lu Ban Exhibition Room, the Macao Museum, Mount Fortress Garden, the Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre, Treasure of Sacred Art of St. Joseph’s Seminary, the Heritage Exhibition of a Traditional Pawnshop Business, some exhibition rooms at Taipa Houses, Macao Cultural Centre, Navy Yard No.1, Ox Warehouse, the Chun Chou Tong Pavilion and the Iong Sam Tong Pavilion in Lou Lim Ieoc Garden.
