Jointly managed by the Macao Government Tourism Office, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the Sports Bureau and the Institute for Tourism Studies, under the governance of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Government, the Anim’Arte NAM VAN will hold the “A Promenade in the Small City: An Illustration Exhibition of the Macao Cultural and Creative Map” from today until Sunday, 31 December, at the Lakeside Gallery - S3 Room. The exhibition is open to the general public.
The first printed edition and the mobile app of the Macao Cultural and Creative Map (CCM Map) were launched in 2014, featuring versions in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English and Portuguese. The CCM Map is distributed to residents and visitors at 180 locations in Macao and Hong Kong, providing information on various cultural and creative entities, World Heritage sites, museums and performance venues in Macao, as well as bus routes as a reference for residents and tourists.
The CCM Map, designed and illustrated by Macao illustrator Chan Wai Lam, taking Macao’s seven parishes as its frame theme, elaborating the features of local cultural and creative spaces, World Heritage sites and performance venues as well as Macao’s festivals and customs in watercolour. The design of the CCM Map fully manifests the creativity in Macao. The exhibition features 49 manuscripts of 49 cultural and creative spaces and relevant bus routes included in the 2017 edition of the CCM Map, allowing the public to appreciate the CCM Map and find the information about local cultural and creative entities while getting to know about the creative works of illustrator Chan Wai Lam.
Admission is free. The exhibition is open daily from 11am to 10pm, including public holidays, at the Lakeside Gallery - Room S3 in the Anim’Arte NAM VAN, located at Nam Van Lakeside Plaza, Avenida Panorâmica do Lago Nam Van.
