BIOGRAPHY

1941 Born in Guilin,• Guangxi• province, People's Republic of China.

1952 Has one of his paintings selected to represent China at the "International Exhibition of Children's Paintings" in Budapest, Hungary.

1957 Enrols in the Zhongnan Arts School.• Obtains top marks for his first charcoal drawing entitled "Mother Sewing"•

1960 Enrols in the Oil Painting Department• of the Guangzhou Fine Arts Academy.•

1961 Commissioned by the Shanghai Peoples' Publishing Press• to drawn the cartoon "Against River Xiang's Flow".•

1963 Participates in the "Fourth National Painting Exhibition",• in the People's Republic of China.

1965 Graduates from the Oil Painting Department of the Guangzhou Fine Arts Academy. Obtains top marks for his diploma painting entitled "Beach".•

Starts working in the Department of Culture of the Guangdong Province.•

1966 With the advent of the Cultural Revolution incinerates most of his production, mostly oil paintings and charcoal drawings.

1968 Transfered to Yingde• county to work in well digging, housing construction and tea leaves picking.

1969 Promoted by the Military Committee of the Gundog Province• is commissioned by this entity the oil painting depicting the two armies commanded by Mao Zedong• and Lin Biao • entitled "The Meeting of the Armies in Jinggang Mountain"• for The Memorial Hall of the Battle of Shangganling.·

1971 Produces a monumental oil painting entitled "Pondering About the World"• for the Sun Zongshan (Sun Iat Sen) Library.•

1973 Produces the oil paintings "Lu Xin in Shanghai"• and "Night Readings",• two of many other paintings later acquired by the Lu Xun Gallery,• in Guangzhou.

1976 Produces the oil painting "The General Assembly of the Matriarchal Society",• presently in the collection of the Guandong Province Museum.•

His cartoon entitled "The Biography of Lu Xun"• is published by the Lingnan Publishing Press.•

1977 Produces the oil painting "The People's Struggle Against the French in Guangzhou's Waterfront",• presently in the collection of the Zhanjiang City Museum.•

1978 Produces the oil paintings "Sun Zongshan",• presently in the collection of the Sun Zongshan House Memorial,• and "The Fight of the Taiping"• and "Primitive Funeral" presently in the collection of the Guilin Museum.•

1979 Teaches painting in Guangdong province.

Elected representative of the General Assembly of the Artists and Scholars of Guang dong Province,• and executive member of the Association of Painters of Guangdong Province.•

1980 Elected secretary general of the Oil Painting Association of Guangdong Province.•

The "First Exhibition of Oil Paintings" is promoted by the Guangdong Province.

1981 Elected head of the Painting Centre of Guangdong Province,• and juror of the Commission of the Museums of Guangdong Province.•

1982 Produces the oil painting "The First General Assembly of the National Party"• presently in the collection of Liao Zhongai and He Xiangying Memorial Hall.•

Moves to Macao, where he has been living since.

1983 Two one-man shows in Macao.

Participates in an itinerary group show in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao and in the collective "Fifteen Painters from Guangdong".•

Elected executive member of the Yi Yuan Painting Association, •in Macao.

1984 Multiple one-man shows in Hong Kong, Italy, Macao, and the People's Republic of China.

1985 Member founder of the Association of Social Sciences, •in Macao.

1987 One-man show in Macao.

Participates in an itinerant group show in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macao.

1988 Participates in an itinerant group show in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macao.

1989 One-man show in Macao.

1990-1992 One-man show in Macao— yearly.

Participates in the II, III and IV Macao Arts Festival.•
