Conductor: Bian Zushan

Spring, the season of renewal, comes with its particular freshness, flavor and colors, unfolding before us beautiful and poetic landscapes as spring breeze gently blows over mountains and rivers, caressing rosy clouds and moonlights, while plants sprout and flower amidst the lively, joyful Spring Festival. This concert radiates the feeling of spring, celebrating the revival of life.

This concert will be conducted by the famous conductor Bian Zushan, together with two excellent Chinese soloists. Celebrated pipa player Wu Yuxia, will perform Pipa Concerto Clouds and Flowers Fantasia. The work, inspired by a famous line from a well-known Li Bai poem dedicated to Yang Guifei, which says "Clouds love to decorate her robe and peony flowers to beautify her face", reveals the classical charm and grace of the Tang dynasty. Outstanding contemporary liuqin artist Cui Junmiao will interpret Liuqin Concerto Unrestrained Songs, a piece with well-knitted rhythms and smooth, elegant melodies as an ode to the passionate and unrestrained life.

On this spring day, while indulging in auditory enjoyment of these classical pieces of Chinese music, feel and experience a rejuvenating spring in the vibrant music and world around us.
