The Macao Museum in co-operation with the Nicéphore Niépce Museum affords viewers a rare and intriguing glimpse into the history of photography, opening a gateway to the understanding of photographic technology and the apparatus manufactured by major inventors in different eras.

The exhibition also details how the French first introduced photography into China via Macao, which in turn was deemed the outset of Chinese photography. A significant exhibition displaying valuable landscape photographs as well as the life and culture of Macao, Hong Kong and Guangzhou from 1844 until the early 20th Century.
