September 1998, Theo Pas’cal and Silk started this musical project in London’s
Camden Town, where a sui generis funky scene has been blossoming. Their
music represents the rediscovery of the essence of groove-soul-funk inherited
from the 60’s & 70’s and the wasted nights of Motown Club. The Funky
Messengers naturally inherited a musical multidisciplinary approach that
reveals itself through the celebration of life.
The Funky Messengers represent the best that Portugal has to offer in terms
of funky music. They deliver a unique performance as members of an eclectic and
expressive family of musicians in which it is manifestly obvious that their
success derives from their link with several generations of funk.
