Onto the black backdrop of Prague’s Theatre
Image, dancers paint a world of impossibilities. Creating poetic illusions by
setting colours in motion, they unfold mysteries with magic tricks that leave
the stage and enter into the audience. This is black theatre, with its play of
contradictions rooted in four centuries of Chinese black-box theatre tradition,
and it gives rise to a new perception of reality.
Dance, music, and the circus arts have worked in
harmony within the black velvet scenery of Theatre Image’s more than 6000
performances worldwide for the past decade. They now bring the very best of this
black magic to Macao, to challenge the audience‘s imagination.
