Clarinet and flute unite in a programme of European works, and their affair is sweetened with the addition of a duet by Heitor Villa-Lobos. The Brazilian composer's Chôro No. 2 sets the stage for the genius of flutist-composer Kaspar Kummer to find expression in the artistry of Andreas Blau, sentiments that Wenzel Fuchs translates religiously in the last sonata of Francis Poulenc. The wind soloists from the Berlin Philharmonic continue to sigh as one with orchestral support from the piano in the Tarantella of Camile Saint-Saëns.
