It seemed doomed to be just another summer fling, but destiny had another thing in store for Sandy and Danny; they would meet again at the rebellious Rydell High School. She melts with love. He plays it cool and won't give her a second look. After a change of heart, Danny tries his tough guy charms. She is not convinced. Sandy proves she has fire in her veins and becomes a greaser goddess. Danny leaves behind his ruffian image to win her. A change of appearance can't fool the heart.

On the silver screen, Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta immortalised this love story, but long before that, "Summer Loving" and "Greased Lightnin" drew crowds on Broadway. The public raved over the musical, created in 1959 by the duo of Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.
