The piano of Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto
weaves an elegant and minimalist fabric of sound. Under his European microscope,
Carsten Nicolai aka Alva Noto analyses these acoustic fibres, adding images for
both intellect and senses. This union of cultures and generations in the mode of
insen began in 2002 with the album vrioon, the result of a
long-distance conversation. From the impressionist dialogues that sold out
venues all over Europe, a new musical structure was born and persists today in
the recent EP entitled revep. The next lounge experiment of these musical
scientists makes Macau their immense laboratory of ideas.
