Memories of Moments - Macao and Lusophone African and Asian Regions in Photograph Postcards
A postcard is a piece of correspondence intended for writing and mailing without using an envelope. On the front of a photograph postcard is an image that allows one to observe changes in the world and society. On the back is a personal message, though not always a piece of literature, yet it tells stories, thoughts and feelings, and this enhances the value of postcards as documents to savour.
This book includes a selection of photograph postcards from the collection of the Archives of Macao which were on display in exhibition “Memories of Moments—Macao and Lusophone African and Asian Regions in Photograph Postcards” to present a big picture of the urban-architectural, ethnographic, historic, natural, economic and other facets of life in Macao and Angola, Cape Verde, the Portuguese State of India, Portuguese Guinea, Mozambique, São Tomé and Principe and East Timor.
