The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents ARTmusing Summer workshops, a series of activities conceived to boost the creativity of both children and their families throughout the holiday season.
This new edition brings in workshops custom-made for all tastes and ages, from toddlers to young children, from parents to youngsters, without forgetting senior participants and performing arts lovers. This year, the series will be hosted by experienced artists from latitudes as diverse as Spain and Scotland who will be joining Macao and Hong Kong professionals on a quest to share their arts through creative games and challenges.
From the tiniest to the biggest, every kid will find ground to explore imagination throughout the Children’s Workshops. These include a wide realm, from acrobatic sessions designed to challenge body flexibility to clowning tricks, musical inspiration and a venture into the construction of theatre props. Besides these choices, some of the kids will have a real opportunity to take part in short presentations.
And to provide quality time involving both parents and kids, CCM will be hosting new Family Workshops specially designed to strengthen bonds, with plenty of music and movement. Besides a variety of theatrical approaches, from puppetry and dance to physical theatre, parents and children will have the chance to engage together in a more technical adventure by joining the Foley and Sound workshop or discovering the link between sound and form guided by the professional artists of the show Beatles for Babies.
Also in this edition, the teenager audience may expect a range of trendy proposals, from A Cappella singing, to musical creation in the Theatre Music Mix & Match , all available in the coolest Youth Workshops. Youngsters are also encouraged to delve into an array of artistic expressions, such as vocal percussion techniques and beatbox performance as well as body expression.
For those wishing to delve deeper into the mysteries of theatre and develop their technical skills, the Practitioners Workshops will bring experts of various trades, from Storytelling and pop-up book specialists to a Stage Lighting workshop which promises to unveil the basics through very practical approaches.
Finally, those with more experience will have a chance to fulfil their own artistic dreams by joining the newly introduced category Senior Friends Workshops. Participants are invited to reinvent themselves as they explore their acting or singing skills through simple methods, unveiled creatively and interactively.
The ARTmusing Summer Workshops are a regular cultural event, bringing artistic insights to a growing number of performing art lovers each year. This edition includes a string of 38 intensive workshops, hosting nearly 300 sessions happening from July through August.
