The exhibition “Italian Renaissance Drawings from the British Museum” comprises 52 drawings from 1470 to 1580, by 42 different masters, representing artists working across the Italian peninsula, including Mantegna, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Titian, Raphael, and Rosso Fiorentino, among others. Divided into 6 sessions, namely The Human Figure, Movement, Light, Costume and Drapery, The Natural World, and Storytelling, the exhibition explores some of the themes that characterise Renaissance art, starting from the core study of the human form, to explore how artists brought life and dynamism to their compositions through the study of movement, light and shade, and costume.

*The presentation of this exhibition is a collaboration between the British Museum and the Cultural Affairs Bureau/Macao Museum of Art.
