Conductor/Lü Jia

Programme:
Stravinsky: Dances concertantes
Stravinsky: Suites I & II for Chamber Orchestra
Ginastera: Concerto for Strings

Neoclassicism in music is a concept of contradictions, while the innovative tonal harmony and complex use of instruments make the composition less resemble classical music, its melody and composition are, nevertheless, echoing the baroque and classical music. It was with the impetus of this contradiction that Igor Stravinsky and other composers of the 20th Century wrote many memorable masterpieces. Following two works by Stravinsky, Maestro Lü Jia will present Alberto Ginastera’s Concerto for Strings in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of this great composer.

Duration: approximately 1 hour, no interval
