Reigning performance artist Laurie Anderson is a daring and creative pioneer who addresses universal themes in the vernacular of the commonplace. Anderson seamlessly combines her extraordinary flair for multimedia and visual artistry with her considerable talents as a composer and musician. A pioneer of the 1970s New York art scene, Anderson launched her stellar career with the release of the song O Superman in 1981. Numerous award-winning recordings, augmented by groundbreaking multimedia performances and her concert film Home of the Brave, soon followed. She has also published and illustrated a number of books, and her visual work has been presented in major museums throughout the United States and Europe. In addition, Anderson is widely considered a groundbreaking leader in the use of technology in the arts. She has invented several experimental musical instruments, including the “Tape-bow violin” and the “Talking Stick.” Her eclectic compositions range from innovative scores for films and theatrical productions. She was even named the first artist-inresidence at NASA.

Laurie Anderson comes to Mount Fortress, one of Macao’s most scenic and stunning performance venues, with her work The Language of the Future, a collection of songs and stories about contemporary culture. The latest chapter of Anderson’s ongoing exploration of the American narrative and how we tell it crosses borders between dreams, reality and the elusive world of information. Don’t miss this chance to experience the work of a master storyteller and performance legend.
