Led by Macao Orchestra’s Principal Conductor Lu Jia, fabulous pipa master Zhang Hongyan and flautist Tang Junqiao cooperate with the Orchestra in Zhou Long’s, Guo Wenjing’s and Bright Sheng’s masterworks in this East Meets West concert representing characteristics of Macao: tolerance, harmony and cultural integration.

Adapted by renowned composer Zhou Long, King Chu Doffs His Armour has become a representative classical pipa concerto, which combines dynamic elements representing the majesty of battle with factors reflecting the inner tenderness of the warrior. Guo Wenjing’s “Chou Kong Shan” Concerto for Bamboo Flute requires the most difficult performance skills, while the Concerto for Orchestra: Zodiac Tales by Bright Sheng, commissioned by the Philadelphia Orchestra, was already performed in the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York.

Don’t miss this exceptional concert.

“Unparalleled music talent, she (Tang Junqiao) can create any perfection with her flute.”
