Kindertotenlieder is a song cycle for voice and orchestra composed by Gustav Mahler. Its delicate, soul-stirring movements penetrate the heart of every listener. An outstanding example of Mahler’s romantic and elegant style, the work leads audience members into a spiritual world of dark aestheticism, lingering on moments of deep sorrow, melancholy and wonder.

The Faust Symphony, written by the cross-era musical genius Franz Liszt, is one of the Hungarian composer’s most important works. Through his scintillating orchestration, this musical piece projects an enchanting emotional appeal. Brilliant and dazzling, it has enjoyed 150 years of popularity and remains a timeless masterpiece of the classical music genre to this day.

In recent years, under the baton of Music Director and Principal Conductor Lü Jia, the Macao Orchestra has dedicated itself to attaining ever higher professional standards and stylistic maturity. The performance of these two renowned classics is a testament to the musicians’ skill and a showcase of the group’s remarkable achievements.
