Born into a family of professional
musicians, the Johnston brothers Guy and Magnus first began their musical
training as choristers at King’s College. Magnus later switched to violin and
Guy to cello; today, both of them are regarded as “new stars” on UK’s musical
scene. Magnus was admitted as a finalist in the 1998 BBC Young Musician
Competition and Guy won the title of BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2000.
He has been hailed by The Strad as “one of the country’s most promising and
distinctive cellists,” and in 2001 was invited to perform as soloist at the
Proms Festival in the UK. The Johnston brothers’
performance of Brahms’ Double Concerto will enthrall Macao audiences for the
very first time!
