The Piano Concerto Nº1 in C Major was the first of Beethoven’s five concertos to be published (Vienna, 1801), and hence became known as “Nº1”, although in terms of its year of completion (1798) it should have been placed second, written at a time when Beethoven was still under the age of 30. Beethoven performed this opus for the first time in that same year at a concert in Prague, achieving great success with his powerful performance.
