The Shanghai Puppet Troupe was established in 1960 and currently employs over 120 puppeteers. Over the last five decades it has presented over 150 shows in China and abroad. This production of Hans Christian Anderson’s fairy tale brings to life the little girl whose matches provide the only flicker of light as she struggles to support her povertystricken family.
