Review of Culture International Edition No. 75 Commemoration of the half millennium of Camões and a variety of Macao studies

The current issue of the Review of Culture (RC) starts with two articles dedicated to commemorate the half millennium of the birth of Luís de Camões. The first article explores the vitality of the Camonian epic, revealing its unique position within Portuguese literature and its reinterpretation across centuries. The second one highlights the significance of the Camões Garden and Grotto in 18th century Macao, demonstrating its position as a cultural landmark through foreign travellers' accounts.

Cultural Affairs Bureau successfully holds four lectures of “The Belt and Road Cultural Talk Series”

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) successfully organised this year four lectures integrated in "The Belt and Road Cultural Talk Series – Collections of Mural Paintings", from August to September. Four experts and scholars introduced the mural art and cultural allure of Dunhuang, the Ancient Egypt, Russia and Sogdiana, unveiled mysteries and invaluable history, allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of the cultural connotations of the "Belt and Road" countries.

Cultural Affairs Bureau hosts "The Belt and Road Cultural Talk Series" to explore the mystery of Sogdian civilization

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the fourth lecture entitled "Sogdiana, its mural paintings and religious art: A forgotten civilization from pre-Islamic Central Asia", integrated in "The Belt and Road Cultural Talk Series – Collections of Mural Paintings", hosted by Professor Matteo Compareti from the Capital Normal University in Beijing, will be held on 8 September (Sunday), at 3pm, at the Auditorium of the Macao Museum of Art, unveiling the mystery of Sogdian civilization with the public. Admission is free and registration for the lecture is now open. Interested parties are welcome to register through the Macao One Account.

"Macao Pavilion" presented at the Hong Kong Book Fair to promote Macao's diversified publishing culture

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and the Macao Foundation co-operate again to set up the "Macao Pavilion" at the 34th Hong Kong Book Fair, showcasing publications of IC and Macao Foundation, as well as other publications from Macao, introducing Macao's outstanding works to readers from Hong Kong and other regions.

Cultural Affairs Bureau launches new postcard collection of the "Historic Centre of Macao"

In order to promote the cultural connotations of the "Historic Centre of Macao" to residents and tourists, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) specially organised and launched the new cultural tourism product "Strolling through the World Heritage sites – Postcard Collection of the Historic Centre of Macao", presenting the unique charm of the Historic Centre of Macao with beautiful watercolours, thereby enhancing Macao's image as a member of the Organisation of World Heritage Cities and a city of tourism and leisure, and promoting the cultural essence of Macao to the world.
