Summary

Catalogue of the “East Meets West - Cultural Relics from the Pearl River Delta Region Exhibition”, held from April 29 to July 30, 2006, and jointly organized by Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture, Guangzhou Municipal Cultural Bureau, Home Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong S.A.R and Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. Government. The exhibition brings together 159 cultural artifacts from museums of Canton, Hong Kong and Macao. Divided into three sections with the themes – From Silk to Porcelain, The Global Connection, and When East Met West, the exhibition fully explains the three places’ status and contribution in the history of Chinese and western cultural exchange.
