Dr. Benita Tse-Leung, born in the United States, moved to Hong Kong at an early age and began her musical studies there. She returned to the US to continue her education in music and obtained her BM, MM, and DMA performance degrees at Temple University and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Dr. Tse has performed with her husband, Dr. Jackson Leung, as a duo piano team throughout the US and abroad. Their performances have been featured on public radio WGUC, Radio Television Hong Kong, and in recitals in the United States, and abroad, including the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Japan, Canada, Bermuda, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau, and numerous other cities in mainland China (Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Tianjin, etc.). The Leung-Tse duo was awarded first prize in the Artist Duo Division at the OMTA Graves Competition in 1996 and 1998. Their CD, entitled “Danzas,” was released in the summer of 2001.

In 1989, she and her husband began a piano studio that was committed to teaching serious piano students. Their mission was to inspire and instil the highest qualities of musical learning. To this day, their belief and commitment have prevailed. Their studio has produced numerous prize winning students at state, regional, and international competitions including World Piano Competition in Cincinnati, The Stravinsky Awards International Competition, Bartók-Kabalevsky International Competition, “From the Top” Public Radio International Auditions, Irene Tintner Contest for Outstanding Pianists, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto Competition, Blue Ash Symphony Concerto Auditions, Clifton Music Club Scholarship Competition, Ohio Federation of Music Clubs, the Overture Awards, and the Ohio Music Teachers Association/Graves and Buckeye Competitions, among others. Tse has also been serving as a US representative for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music since 1991.
