Winners’ Concert in Macao Polytechnic Institute

Winners’ Concert of the 23rd Macao Youth Music Competition (MYMC) was held last night (July 30) at 8pm in the Macao Polytechnic Institute’s auditorium. First-prize winners of all events and categories were invited to perform. Winners of special prizes were also announced. The “Cultural Affairs Bureau Prize” went to Fong Chio, champion of piano advanced competition; Chan Sin, Chan Weng Sa and Vong Cheok Kei won the “Virtuosity Prize”; and Wong Cheok Lam won the “Macao Polytechnic Institute Prize”.

Results of Macao Youth Music Competition

The 23rd Macao Youth Music Competition (MYMC) is reaching the end. The contestants made use of their last chance to prove their talents. After a series of intense competitions, winners of the remaining categories were announced. For piano Group H (Level 8) competition held last Saturday (July 2), Wong Cheok Lam, with excellent skill, won the first prize with 88 points, the second prize went to Lau Pui Kei with 86 points and Lou Cheok Lam won the third prize with 85 points.

Winners of Macao Youth Music Competition Announced

The 23rd Macao Youth Music Competition (MYMC) continues in Macao Polytechnic Institute’s auditorium. Contestants of piano group E (level 5) competition (June 26) performed one piece of their own choice and two compulsory pieces including Clementi's Sonatina Op. 38 No.3 in F and Bennett's Aria in Bb major Op. 33 No. 19. After a series of intense competitions, Tay Cesar de Sa, Mariana, with good musical sense and confident performance in Schuman's Italian Fishermen’s Song, won the first prize with 92 points.

Macao Youth Music Competition Begins this Saturday

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S. A. R. Government, the 23rd Macao Youth Music Competition (MYMC) will begin this Saturday (June 25). Different levels of competitions will take place for 11 days in the Macao Polytechnic Institute. MYMC aims at encouraging local musical development, enhancing artistic knowledge and raising the performance levels of Macao’s young musicians. Members of the jury include specialists from Hong Kong, Mainland China and America.

The registration period of the 23rd Macao Youth Music Competition will take place between March 14 and 20. Different levels of piano competitions will be held this year. Competition regulations and application forms could be obtained from the Headquarters of the Cultural Institute of the Macao S.A.R. Government, the Central Library and its district branches, the Macao Conservatory, or downloaded from the Cultural Institute’s website: www.icm.gov.mo.
