Dai is the Associate Professor and the supervisor of the Master’s degree programme at the Conducting Department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where he teaches and conducts comparative studies on symphony orchestra conducting and Chinese orchestra conducting.

In 2015, he was invited to be a visiting scholar at the Manhattan School of Music in the United States. He was the Resident Conductor of the Xiaoyan Choir of the Zhou Xiaoyan Opera Centre and the Jiangsu Symphony Orchestra, the Music Director of Ningbo Chinese Orchestra, and the Guest Conductor of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Opera House Orchestra, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Hunan Changsha Symphony Orchestra, New Star Ensemble in the United States, Macao Chinese Orchestra, Malaysia Philharmonic Chinese Orchestra, etc. He is also a visiting professor and guest artist at music schools and art institutions at home and abroad.
