
Percussionist Yu-Chieh Chen, a native Taiwanese, studied piano and percussion since childhood. She received her diploma and certificate in percussion performance from the Conservatoire Superieur de Paris - C.N.R and the Conservatoire National de Region de Rueil-Malmaison in Paris, France. Her primary teachers include Frederic Macarez, Eric Sammut, Gaston Sylvestre, and Setsu Miyaoka. After her study in Paris, Ms. Chen returned to Taiwan and began to establish musical career as a performer and educator. Yu-Chieh was not only a renowned teacher at numeral schools but also an active musician in several prestige orchestras and ensembles such as l’Orchestre d’harmonie “Chanson du Vent”, Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra, Taipei Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Taipei Symphonic Winds, Taipei Symphony Orchestra, New Taipei City Symphony Orchestra and Evergreen Symphony Orchestra. Currently, Ms. Chen is appointed as the Acting Principal Percussion at Dunshan Symphonic Wind Orchestra in Beijing, China.
