A graduate from SCOM, Ma Honggang is now a trombonist of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra (SSO). He has performed works by Chinese and international composers at more than 1,000 concerts since he joined the orchestra in 1996. He constantly tours around the world. In 2000, he was appointed as SSO’s principal trombonist.
Besides scheduled performances, Ma Honggang is dedicated to music education, serving as a senior adviser to concert bands at elementary and junior high schools across Shenzhen. Since 2003, he has been an Amateur Grading Test examiner of the Shenzhen division of SCOM.
