A NIGHT OF DRAMA, the plays "Lodging-house" and "Charlie, the Cock" were presented by the Association of Theatrical Performances "Hiu Kok"(Teatro D. Pedro V).

THEATRE: the I.C.M. presented the plays "Adamastor, the Giant" and "Prince Henry's Kiss" (Teatro D. Pedro V).

1st INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL OF MACAU, organized by Dr. António Carmo, attended by famous names of the present musical scene. International personalities rated the festival as top class.
Distinguished guests included Mrs. Maria de Jesus Barroso and the actress Audrey Hepburn. The latter made an appeal for solidarity with unprotected children in Asia.

EXHIBITION of "Paintings by Kira" organized by the I.C.M. at the Livraria Portuguesa.

End of the COMMEMORATION of 25 YEARS of the S. Pio X Academy of Music. Macau had the opportunity to hear concerts by its students (orchestra, piano, violin and chorus) and other performers and composers who helped make this commemoration an important event.
22nd
Opening of the 2nd Session of the CHAMBER ORCHESTRA of Macau (I.C.M.) conducted by Maestro and Artistic Director, Doming Lam. The concert was entitled "A night of harpsichord music". Pieces by Suppé, Mozart, Seixas, Bach and Rodgers were interpreted by Larry Shipull on harpsichord, Chau Ngai on flute and Qie Lu Zhang on violin.
DECEMBER
4th
Commemoration of the 2nd Anniversary of "MACAU AO VIVO", a programme of Radio Macau, with a cultural session in the Gallery of the Centro de Difusão Cultural. This programme has been noted for spreading information on the culture, history and society of Macau.

EXHIBITION of "Documents on the History of China" (Sir Robert Ho Tung's Library).
*5th to 10th
EXHIBITION by "9 ARTISTS" - Ana Leandro, Carlos Marreiros, Conceição Júnior, José Catita, Kwok Wun, Mio Pang Fei, Ung Wai Meng, Victor Marreiros and Un Chi Lam. Revealing nine distinct tendencies from different origins they were "a pleasure on paper".

On the same day and at almost the same time another EXHIBITION, by the artist "Ko Bou Tsiu", was given in the new wing of the Hotel Lisboa by the Alliance Française, sponsored by the I.C.M..

The inauguration of the new headquarters of C. E. M. was accompanied by an EXHIBITION by 2 Chinese painters: Un Chi Lam and Loc Hong.
11th to 19th
Republication of the book "MACANESE BIBLIOGRAPHY" by Luis Gonzaga Gomes and an Exhibition of Books and Photographs by the same author.
11th to 12th
The V INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL OF MACAU - Trio Shish (Portugal), Kindred Spirits (Hong-Kong) and the local quartet "Novo Combo", all performed on the first day. On the second day the Yamamoto Quartet (Japan), the Graham Haynes Trio (U.S.A.) and the local trio "Ou Mun Blues" gave performances. We anticipate more and better performances in the future.
14th to 16th
Children's THEATRE in Pedro Nolasco's Primary School. Performances of "From the Top of the Roof" "John's Christmas" and "The Magic Clock".
19th to 20th
BALLET from the group of the I.C.M. directed by Cheong Son Seng. This attracted a big crowd. The performance of "The Serpent Dance" was outstanding with music by Wu Zhungiang and Du Ming Xing, featuring the ballet dancers Vera Cristina and Cheong Son Seng. The last dance "Passion for the Sea" was also extremely well executed.
27th
Christmas CONCERT in the Sé Cathedral. The Orchestra of Macau and the choir of the Hong Kong Oratory Society performed joyful Christmas music by Anderson, Haydn and Handel making this a very happy event.
