The closing performance, Lu Duan, the first musical for children ever by the Palace Museum, will be held on August 23 and 24, tickets for which are almost sold out. Additional seats are offered for the show on 23 August, allowing the public to embark on this immersive journey across the historical relics of the Imperial Palace through an innovative and perfect integration between theatrical arts, traditional culture and modern technology. In addition, additional sessions will be offered for the new programme “Family Art Camp” at the Macao Cultural Centre, allowing families to create warm memories through arts and culture.
Lu Duan, the first musical for children ever by the Palace Museum, will be staged from 23 to 24 August. Drawing inspiration from more than 1.86 million pieces in the Palace Museum’s collection to design character prototypes, and based on the auspicious Palace Museum beast, “Lu Duan”, the creative team took three years on this production that perfectly blends theatrical art, traditional culture and modern technology. With the manifestation of cultural relics in an anthropomorphic style and sumptuous staging, the show takes the public on an immersive journey to explore across the Forbidden City.
The new programme Art Camps has been highly sought after, and the tickets for all sessions were sold out since its launch. Considering the public’s overwhelming response, additional sessions will be offered for “Fantastic Creative Door – Family Art Camp” from 24 to 25 August. Participants can camp at the Macao Cultural Centre, where they will join the interactive workshops and make a night visit to the Macao Museum of Art to enjoy the fun of art. The activities will be conducted in Cantonese (supplemented by Mandarin).
