“Parade through Macau, Latin City – Photography Contest”

Regulations

Organiser: Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. Government

Co- organiser: Easy Photography Association

  1. Aim: In celebration of the 14th Anniversary of Macao’s Handover to China, the Photography Contest aims to encourage citizens to actively participate in this cultural event by providing local shutterbugs with a platform to exchange and share their own images of the festivities. The contest is divided into Student and Public categories.

     
  2. Content: Submissions must focus on one or more aspects of the December 20th Parade, for example, depictions of the joyous atmosphere or close-ups and highlights of the performances.

     
  3. Eligibility: Macao residents

     
  4. Categories:
    (1) Student – for residents aged 13 to 24;
    (2) Public – for residents aged 25 and above.

     
  5. Application requirements:
    • Submitted works must be in JPG format, with a maximum resolution of 2500px and a maximum size of 2MB.

       
    • Each file name should consist of two numbers followed by ‘-‘ and the author’s name, such as “01-ChanTaiMan.jpg”, “02-ChanTaiMan.jpg”, “10-ChanTaiMan.jpg” (works that do not follow this format will not be considered for evaluation).

       
    • Each participant may submit up to 10 photos.

       
  6. Submission of works
    Applicants should access and upload their works on http://photoblog.ecpz.net/latincity/ .

     
  7. Requirements
    Computer manipulated works will not be accepted. Small scale adjustments to brightness, colour, saturation and colour temperature are admissible. The evaluation panel can reject any works if these are deemed overly manipulated.

     
  8. Submission deadline: until December 31 2013.

     
  9. Evaluation and publication of the results: The evaluation panel consists of representatives from the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Easy Photography Association. Winners will be announced on the website of the Easy Photography Association where their works will also be made available.

    Student Category
    • Winner - a trophy and cash prize of MOP5,000.
    • 1st Runner-Up - a trophy and cash prize of MOP3,000.
    • 2nd Runner-Up - a trophy and cash prize of MOP2,000.
    • 10 Merit Awards - a trophy and cash prize of MOP500 to each.

 Categoria Geral

    • Winner - a trophy and cash prize of MOP7,000.
    • 1st Runner-Up - a trophy and cash prize of MOP4,000.
    • 2nd Runner-Up - a trophy and cash prize of MOP3,000.
    • 10 Merit Awards - a trophy and cash prize of MOP700 to each.

    • Date: February 2014

  2. Terms and conditions:
    • To encourage the maximum number of participants, the Winner and Runners-up Prizes will not be awarded to the same contestant, and each participant may only receive two awards in total;

       
    • All entries must comply with the Regulations, and the decision of the evaluation panel is final;

       
    • The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify works or participants whose submissions do not comply with the Regulations;

       
    • Submitted works will not be returned. The Organiser reserves the right to use selected works for publicity purposes, without seeking the consent of the author or providing any additional compensation. Winners must provide the film or original digital files to the Organizer for purposes of printing, publication or promotional materials, amongst others;

       
    • It is forbidden to usurp the work of others, under penalty of disqualification, annulment of the awards given and restitution of the trophy and cash prize. Participants are solely responsible for clearing any copyright, image rights or other rights issues that may arise because of their submitted work and clear the Organiser of any responsibility;

       
    • The Organiser reserves the right to modify the Regulations, and their interpretation shall be at the sole discretion of the Organiser.
