Cultural Affairs Bureau adjusts the registration period for activities and the deadline of ticket refunds for the 32nd Macao Arts Festival

In line with the SAR Government’s epidemic prevention and control measures, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) closed its cultural facilities and suspended all cultural activities and external services. In view of the pandemic impact, IC has also adjusted the registration period for some activities and the deadline of ticket refunds for 32nd Macao Arts Festival.

32nd Macao Arts Festival breaks the barriers of space and broadens the public’ artistic horizons

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the 32nd Macao Arts Festival (MAF), themed “Invigorate”, has been concluded successfully. The overall ticketing rate reached nearly 90% and nearly 6.6 million people were exposed to online advertising.

Liza Wang and the Macao Chinese Orchestra jointly present the closing concert of the 32nd Macao Arts Festival

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the closing concert “Liza Wang and The Macao Chinese Orchestra”, integrated in the 32nd Macao Arts Festival, will be held on 1 and 2 June, at The Venetian Theatre. The organiser held a press meeting today (30 May) in the Meeting Room of The Venetian Macao. Renowned artist Liza Wang and the Head of the Department of Performing Arts Development of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Cheang Kai Meng, met with the local media to share their thoughts on the concert and introduce the highlights of the programme.

Programme New Dragon Inn of the 32nd Macao Arts Festival cancelled as the performing group is unable to come to Macao

Due to the epidemic prevention and control measures in Mainland China, the performance group of the New Dragon Inn, a programme of the 32nd Macao Arts Festival organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will not be able to visit Macao as scheduled, and the performance as therefore been cancelled. IC will  arrange refund for those who have purchased tickets for the show.

32nd Macao Arts Festival offers an additional performance of the concert Liza Wang and The Macao Chinese Orchestra

Tickets for the closing concert of the 32nd Macao Arts Festival Liza Wang and The Macao Chinese Orchestra, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), were sold out since the first day of ticket sales. Considering the enthusiastic support from music aficionados in Macao and the Greater Bay Area, an additional performance will be offered at 8pm on 1 June. Tickets for the additional performance will be on sale simultaneously through the Macau Ticketing Network outlets, telephone and online booking from 10am on 14 May.

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym), the 32nd Macao Arts Festival (MAF), themed “Invigorate”, was inaugurated on 29 April at the Macao Cultural Centre, presenting a number of outstanding productions, invigorating power of times through an array of art forms and expanding artistic experiences in different fields. Three programmes of the 32nd Macao Arts Festival cancelled as the artistic groups are unable to come to Macao

Due to the epidemic prevention and control measures in Mainland China and to the fact that the artistic groups will not be able to visit Macao, the programmes Xiao Ke, Electra and I Am a Moon, integrated in the 32nd Macao Arts Festival, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will be cancelled. IC will arrange refunds for those who have purchased tickets for the programmes. Spectators with tickets may contact the Macau Ticketing Network for refund procedures from 28 April to 30 June at different times.

Tickets for selected programmes of the 32nd Macao Arts Festival still on sale on Cotai Ticketing

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the 32nd Macao Arts Festival (MAF), themed “Invigorate”, will be held from 29 April to 2 June, featuring 18 programmes, covering theatre, dance, music and visual arts, aiming to invigorate the power of the times with art. Tickets for various MAF programmes are still available for purchase, including for The Phantom of Liaozhai on May 1 at the Sands Theatre, Nine Soundscapes on May 21 and 22 at The Parisian Theatre, and the closing performance Liza Wang and The Macao Chinese Orchestra on June 2 in The Venetian Theatre. A limited number of tickets of the three programmes aforementioned will be on sale from 12am on 27 April through the Cotai Ticketing, and the all interested patrons may take this opportunity to buy tickets at the earliest convenience.

Opening of the exhibition “Contemporary Ink Art in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao from 2000 to 2022”
Presenting the evolution of contemporary ink art in the Greater Bay Area

The exhibition “Wild Imagination: Contemporary Ink Art in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao from 2000 to 2022”, jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province and coordinated by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, and the Guangdong Museum of Art, was inaugurated on 14 April at the MAM. The opening ceremony was officiated by the President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR Government, Leong Wai Man; the Head of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Bai Bing; the President of the Macau Artist Society, Lok Hei; the President of the Macau Contemporary Ink Painting Association, Chang Kuok Meng; the Acting Director of School of Arts of the Macao Polytechnic University, Lai Ming Hoi, Victor; the representative of participating artists Huang Guanghui , and Dr. Leong Lampo. The exhibition is integrated in the 32nd Macao Arts Festival.

Exhibition of Contemporary Ink Art in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao opens at Macao Museum of Art this week

Jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province and coordinated by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, and the Guangdong Museum of Art, the exhibition “Wild Imagination: Contemporary Ink Art in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao from 2000 to 2022” will be inaugurated on 14 April, at 6:30pm, on the 3rd floor of MAM. The exhibition, integrated in the 32nd Macao Arts Festival, is curated by contemporary art critic Pi Daojian, featuring nearly 80 pieces/sets of contemporary ink works by over 50 artists from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. All are welcome to visit.

Tickets for additional performances of the 32nd Macao Arts Festival on sale from this Saturday

The 32nd Macao Arts Festival (MAF), organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will be held from 29 April to 2 June. Since the first day of ticket sales, tickets for a number of programmes have been highly sought after. Considering the public’s overwhelming response, additional performances will be offered for the local performances. Tickets for the additional performances will be on sale simultaneously through the Macau Ticketing Network outlets, telephone and online booking from 10am on 9 April (Saturday). An early bird discount of 30%, subject to certain criteria, are available until 10 April (Sunday) and the public should take this opportunity to buy tickets as soon as possible.

Ticket sales for the 32nd Macao Arts Festival satisfactory
Several programmes highly sought after

Tickets for the 32nd Macao Arts Festival (MAF), organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, went on sale simultaneously through the Macau Ticketing Network outlets, telephone and online booking from 10am on 3 April. Tickets for a number of programmes were sold out, including The Phantom of Liaozhai, The Vanished Figures, Grandma’s Treasure Box, I Am a Moon and some sessions of the shows Carlos I and Xiao Ke. This year’s MAF has received an enthusiastic response from the public and sales reached a satisfactory result as more than 5,500 tickets were sold up until 4 April, which accounted for nearly 60% of the total number of tickets. Many programmes were highly sought after and tickets for over 9 shows were sold out.

Tickets will be on sale through the Macau Ticketing Network from 10am on 3 April. Ticketing services at the outlets, telephone and online booking will be available simultaneously. In order to cooperate with the epidemic prevention and control measures, to reduce crowd gathering at the ticketing outlets and to safeguard public health, members of the public are advised to purchase tickets online or by telephone. An online reservation system has also been set up for the first day of ticket sales. Members of the public who want to purchase tickets at the Macau Ticketing Network outlets from 10am to 1pm on the first day of ticket sales are required to reserve their ticketing slot and their desired outlet through the online reservation system from 10am on 31 March (Thursday).

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the 32nd Macao Arts Festival (MAF), themed “Invigorate”, sets off in May, featuring a range of programmes and outreach activities to encourage the public to invigorate imagination through art. Previews of four programmes are now launched, including the contemporary dance theatre production Free Man from the South, the cutting-edge theatrical production I Am a Moon, the Ancient Greek tragedy Electra, and the new Shanghai-style Peking opera New Dragon Inn.     TICKETING

    1. Tickets for the programmes and the outreach programme Selected Screenings of International Stage Performances are available from 10am on 3 April (Sunday). In order to cooperate with the epidemic prevention and control measures, to implement crowd management and flow measures and to safeguard the public health, outlet ticketing, telephone and online booking will be available simultaneously on the first day of ticket sales. Registration in the Online Reservation System opens from 10am on 31 March (Thursday);
    2. Members of the public who want to purchase tickets at the outlets from 10am to 1pm on that day (3 April) are required to reserve their ticketing outlets and time slots through the online reservation system of the Macau Ticketing Network from 10am on 31 March to 1pm on 3 April (excluding sales offices in Hong Kong and Mainland China). Audience members can also choose to book their tickets via telephone or online, without pre-registration. Please note the following if registering through the online reservation system:
      1. Online reservation system operation process:
        1. Enter the Registration Platform (URL: https://www.macauticket.com/2022FAM or use the QR code );

        2. Enter the mobile phone number, and enter the verification code sent by SMS to the mobile phone through the online reservation system;
        3. After successful verification, you can select the location and time you want to purchase your ticket(s);
        4. After successful registration, you will receive a SMS. The public should open the link attached to the SMS and download the electronic code. It is recommended to save a screenshot;
        5. The public should purchase their tickets at the selected Macau Ticketing Network outlet according to the time slots indicated on the electronic codes by presenting the electronic codes. Please be punctual; latecomers will be rescheduled by the system.
      2. Those in need of assistance to reserve a ticketing slot can visit any of the Macau Ticketing Network outlets during business hours and the online platform’s opening period, and make the registration with the assistance of the staff;
      3. Each mobile phone number can only be registered once;
      4. Booking time slots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis;
      5. The ticketing slots on the electronic codes are only estimated slots and the staff has the right to adjust and make appropriate arrangements according to the actual situation on site;
      6. In case of dispute, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government reserves the right of interpretation and final decision.
    3. On the first day of ticket sales, ticket purchases for each show are limited to a maximum of 6 tickets per performance per person; ticket purchases for the show Liza Wang and the Macao Chinese Orchestra are limited to a maximum of 4 tickets per performance per person.

    Seating for all free admission venues and for the performances in the Old Court Building and Macao Contemporary Art Centre - Navy Yard No. 1 is not assigned and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

     

    FREE TRANSPORTATION

    Free transportation to Praça Ferreira Amaral, Av. Horta e Costa, Fai Chi Kei and Toi San will be available outside the Macao Cultural Centre and the Sands Theatre after every performance.

     

    NOTICE

    1. The organiser strongly urges audience members to arrive at the performance venues 20 minutes before the performances;
    2. The organiser reserves the right to determine at what time and in what manner latecomers are admitted, and to reject the admission of latecomers or audience members who abandon the performance venue during the performance;
    3. Audience members must wear their own face masks, undergo body temperature checks and present their “Health Code” of the day to the personnel on site. Only those with the “Health Code” indicated as green (entry permitted), can enter the venue; decline admission of any person presenting with fever or respiratory symptoms;
    4. Audience members must comply with the “Infection Prevention Guidelines for Visitors in Cultural Affairs Bureau Performance Venues”;
    5. Children under the age of 6 will not be admitted to the programmes and outreach activities. Some of the programmes and outreach activities have minimum age restrictions and suggestions. Please refer to the introduction of the programmes and outreach activities. The organiser reserves the right to request and to examine the valid ID to determine his or her age, and to deny admission to any person when proof of minimum age cannot be provided;
    6. All mobile phones, beeping and lighting devices should be switched off throughout the performances;
    7. Smoking, eating, drinking or the possession of plastic bags and/or objects considered dangerous is prohibited in the performance venues;
    8. To avoid undue disturbance to the performers and audience members, cameras and recording devices are strictly prohibited unless expressly authorized by the organiser;
    9. The organiser reserves the right to change the programme, the cast of performers, the performing date or time and the seats at any time;
    10. In case of inclement weather conditions, please check the Cultural Affairs Bureau’s website, the Macao Arts Festival website and the respective page on Facebook for the latest updates;
    11. The Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government reserves the right of interpretation and final decision of any disputes on these terms.
