Nicholas Ong

Ong received a Doctorate in piano performance at The Juilliard School in New York. Prior to that, he studied at the École Normale de Musique de Paris under a French Government Scholarship, and gained a Master of Music degree at the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University. Currently, he is Head of Keyboard and coordinator of Chamber Music at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in Singapore. He is in demand for competition juries, masterclasses and a frequent guest faculty at the Asia International Piano Academy & Festival in Korea.

Ong is the recipient of many international prizes, and has performed in numerous concert halls and festivals across the United States, Europe and Asia. He is also passionate about contemporary music and has appeared at the Soundbridge Music Festival, the China-ASEAN Music Festival and the Third Practice Electroacoustic Music Festival. As a versatile chamber musician, he has performed with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in chamber concerts, and toured with principals of major orchestras and young talented musicians. His recent concerto performances include collaborations with the NAFA Orchestra and The Philharmonic Orchestra (Singapore).
