Pei-Chun Liao

Praised by piano maestro Paul Badura-Skoda as an “exceptional and sophisticated” pianist, Liao has won the Third Prize at the Taipei Chopin International Competition, Birmingham Symphony Hall Recital Prize and the Second Prize at the 7th International Piano Competition “Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize”.

Liao has made appearances all over the world, and was invited to be an artist-in-residence at music festivals in the US, Italy, the UK and Ireland. She has performed as a soloist with Reinhold Friedrich, Benny Kim and Peter Donohoe, and as a concerto soloist with orchestras.

After graduating with Distinction in both her Master’s degree and Diploma in performance studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, she entered the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg and obtained her Konzertexamen with distinction. She is currently a full-time associate professor at the piano faculty of the University of Taipei in Taiwan.
