Jin Hanwen

Jin started learning the piano at an early age. In 2008, he graduated with a Master’s degree in piano performance from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He then pursued his studies in Germany and obtained a Konzertexamen from the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. After returning to China, he has been engaged in music education and is currently teaching at the Piano Department of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music.

Jin is one of the few Chinese pianists who studies Bach’s music, and was praised as “a born musician” and “a Bach expert from China”. He has toured Germany, Austria, Spain, Poland, Japan and China. In 2009, he won the first place in the Music Festival for Young Professionals in Germany. In 2021, he held a recital in the Shanghai Spring International Music Festival and published an album entitled JS Bach: Partitas. In 2023, he received the Young Artist Grant from the China National Arts Fund.
