Wan-Chien Chen

Chen was born and raised in Taiwan. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in piano performance from Taipei University of the Arts, as well as Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance from Fu Jen Catholic University, under the tutelage of Tai-Cheng Chen and Michael Dellinger. She has won a scholarship to study with Einar Steen-Nøkleberg at Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media in Germany. In 2014, she completed her doctoral dissertation A Study of Hans Leygraf and his Piano Teaching, and was invited to give a speech at the Mozarteum University Salzburg in Austria.

Chen is an experienced soloist, and has a keen interest in performing as an accompanist and in chamber concerts. She is currently assistant professor at Shih Chien University and Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, and gives piano lessons at high schools and primary schools in Taipei.
