Wei Danwen
Wei entered the Piano Department of the Central Conservatory of Music in 1983, furthered his studies in the US the following year and graduated from The Juilliard School in 1992. As a pianist and Steinway Artist, he has performed in hundreds of concerts throughout the US, Europe and Asia, and made appearances with the New York Philharmonic, Minnesota Orchestra, Seattle Symphony and China National Symphony Orchestra. In recent years he has also been active as a maestro, having conducted the Budapest Youth Orchestra, the Ashdod Symphony Orchestra and the Shenyang Symphony Orchestra. He has been principal conductor of the Music Fest Perugia since 2013 and resident conductor at the Taipei International United Youth Symphony Orchestra since 2019.

A faculty member of the Piano Department of Central Conservatory of Music, Wei is also a distinguished professor at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music and a visiting professor at the China Conservatory of Music, Xi’an Conservatory of Music and Wenzhou University, and an honorary professor at the Tianjin Conservatory of Music. His students have won awards in competitions at home and abroad.
