Wu Pei-Ching

A founding member of Ju Percussion Group, Wu has been serving as its principal since 18 years old and earned her doctorate from West Virginia University in 2005. She has been studying the six mallets techniques for over two decades, has commissioned composers to write more than 20 marimba music for six mallets and performed the world premiere of many of these pieces.

Wu has made appearances at Budapest Spring Festival, Martha Argerich Festival in Taipei, Taiwan International Percussion Convention and Marimba 2010 International Festival and Conference, and was nominated twice at Taishin Arts Award. She has been invited to give recitals, talks and masterclasses around the world and served as an adjudicator of international competitions. Currently she is an associate professor at the Department of Music of Taipei University of the Arts and the host of the radio programme Pei-Ching’s Percussion World.
